Your church's finances, handled by someone who's been in your seat.

Rebel CFO is outsourced accounting for churches and faith-based nonprofits, run by a former pastor. Clear books, reports you can actually read, and one less thing on your Sunday-night worry list.

Ministry is the calling. The books keep getting in the way.

Between sermon prep, hospital visits, and the Tuesday-night crisis, someone also has to reconcile the accounts, run payroll, and explain the budget to the board. If that someone is you, you may know the quiet worry that you're doing something wrong and won't find out until it matters. You were trained to care for people, not to read financial statements, and the books shouldn't cost you the time and energy that belong to your people.

I've sat in your chair.

I'm Adam. I spent more than 12 years in pastoral ministry before I ever opened a church's books, so I know the pressure, the sacrifice, and how much a pastor carries that nobody sees. Then I spent 5+ years managing the financial systems of more than 100 churches and ministries. I started Rebel CFO because smaller churches deserve the same careful attention as the big ones. My job is to bring clarity, keep you accountable to your own mission, and handle the numbers so you can lead.

Adam, founder of Rebel CFO

Why "Rebel"?

Years ago I read Shoe Dog, Phil Knight's story of building Nike. One idea stuck with me: the world needs more rebels. There's a world map hanging in my office, upside down on purpose. It reminds me the world is broken, and that fixing it takes people willing to do things differently.

Here's the part that matters: rebel doesn't mean reckless. Your books will be careful, accurate, and boring in the best way. The rebellion is in how we look at the work. Most firms treat church finances as a back-office chore, and we challenge that. The financial side is where you make more impact and put a real dent in your mission.

Financial Stewardship

What we take off your plate.

  • Monthly books

We reconcile your accounts and close out each month so your numbers are right when you need them.

  • Payroll and bills

People and vendors paid on time, with the paperwork behind it organized.

  • Reports you can read

Budget versus actual and the big picture, in plain English, for you and your leadership team.

  • Clean-up for messy books

Behind, tangled, or inherited from three treasurers ago? We sort it out, no judgment.

We work with the tools you already use, or help you choose better ones.

Three steps to a quieter month-end.

  1. 1. Talk it through

A free call. We listen first, no pitch.

  2. 2. We look under the hood

We review your systems and tell you plainly what we see and what we'd fix first.

  3. 3. We take it from here

A steady monthly rhythm, numbers you understand, and answers when you ask.

Two ways the next year can go.

If nothing changes, it's another year of guessing and hoping the numbers are right, the same Sunday-night dread, and surprises at budget time. With Rebel CFO, you open the monthly report and actually understand it, you walk into board meetings with the answer, and Sundays are about people again.

FAQ

Questions you might have.

Are you a CPA firm?

No. Rebel CFO isn't a CPA firm, so we don't do audits or attest work. In practice it rarely comes up, and when it does, we bring in a CPA we trust and work alongside them.

What does it cost?

Every church is different, so we start with a free call and give you a real number. You pay one flat monthly fee, the same every month, based on the size and needs of your church.

Do we have to switch our software?

Not necessarily. We prefer Xero, but we'll look at what you have first and only suggest a change when it makes your life easier.

Our books are a mess. Is that a problem?

It's common, and it's fixable. We start from wherever you are, with no judgment.

Is our information safe?

Yes. Your records are safer in the cloud than on one office computer, where a spilled coffee, a flood, or a failed drive can wipe everything out. We keep your files backed up with added security coverage, and bank account and routing numbers only ever go through a secure portal.

Let's look at your numbers together.

A free "guide" call, no sales pitch. We'll take a look at your systems and see where we can create some breathing room for you. Share a few details and we'll reach out to set up a time.
